Dear Friends and Family, Jia Li passed away two days ago at Calvary Hospital. He was born on 8-20-48 in Shanghai, staying there until 1980 when he moved to New York. He worked hard as a Research Scientist in Hospital for Special Surgery and relocated to Seattle to work at the University of Washington. He loved life so much; he loved his work, his friends, traveled the world, hiked and documented his trips with his camera. We are saddened by his departure but we are also grateful for the care and support given to us by his loved ones. It was heartwarming to see all the visitors, flowers, and prayers in his room. Even though it was unfortunate that he developed cancer, he always had a strong will to live on. When the the doctors diagnosed him with cancer on September 2006, they said only 5% will make it past 2 years. Last July, he stopped chemotherapy after it stopped working. The average person who stops chemo may live only 2-3 months. He lived for a year for a total of almost four years. His strength and courage allowed him to beat all odds. love, Victor and Yan
